Bio

Tyler Cody is a 20 year-old actor, musician, songwriter, and Elvis Tribute Artist.  Born and raised in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Tyler was raised by his parents until he was 9 years old, after which he went to live with his grandparents.  When he first moved in with them, he quickly realized that they rarely listened to music; however, they did have a CD player and 2 CDs: The Beatles #1 and Elvis #1.  It was the music from these 2 CDs that Tyler first heard that would change his life.  He started singing, and by age 13 his grandma had bought him a guitar. Throughout high school Tyler played bass guitar in a few bands, expanding his musical range; but it was in his grad year that he was asked to join the school R&B band. Tyler accepted and started singing.  Tyler's first time singing Elvis publicly was at his school with the R&B band. Soon after, he heard about the Penticton Elvis Festival, and then made his way there to compete. That is when things really started to take off for Tyler.

Since then, he has competed in Penticton for four years in a row, and has performed at multiple other festivals, bars and venues. He graduated from the Film Acting program at Vancouver Film School and has been in multiple commercials, TV shows and plays.

From here on, Tyler cannot imagine a future in which he isn't performing.  Dedicated to the arts, Tyler is constantly trying to find new ways of intermingling his passions together in hopes of giving his show that extra edge.  Tyler's goal for the new year is to release a demo of all original music whilst still working on his Elvis shows. That's not all though: there many other plans in the works, and unforeseen opportunities constantly popping up.  It's not just Tyler's shows that are a wild ride--it's his whole life!  If you want to keep up to date on everything Tyler is doing, then you will enjoy www.thetylercody.com.  Check it out.  And remember, when you visit, send a message. Tyler loves receiving feedback, and he looks forward to improving his art and his shows for your entertainment.

Lastly, Tyler would like to thank everybody who is, has been, or will be part of his journey.  It is because of you that he does what he does, and his only goal is to put smiles on the faces of everybody he can.

Acting

An update from ETA Tyler Cody regarding his acting experiences, posted April 29th, 2020 on his Facebook page, with edits by Carolyn MacArthur, Editor, SIDEBURNS Magazine:

“A Million Little Things” was one of the best sets I’ve ever been on. Everyone was a big, happy, loving family. I learnt so much watching the actors work.
One thing that really stood out to me was the gratitude between the cast and crew. I remember the director giving us direction and after every re-direct Lizzy Greene would say “thank you,” and that was when it really hit me that everybody just wants the best from you. There’s no point in arguing or being sarcastic or dismissive. Just say “thank you” and accept the help you are being given. Everybody is working hard and trying their best to be of service to the story. That is why I love acting, and that is why I love “A Million Little Things”!
And thank you Lizzy for teaching me a very valuable lesson about acting
