Introduction
It is a pleasure to introduce the UK’s multi-award winning ETA Garry J Foley to SIDEBURNS Magazine. I wish to thank Garry for sending his bio and photos to post. I have added great videos of Garry’s international performances and two from the 2017 Collingwood Elvis Festival that bespeak of Garry's professionalism and years of experience as an ETA.
In addition to Garry's own bio, the following edited excerpt from Graceland: Home of Elvis Presley, August 2016, provides a little more information on Garry's background as an ETA: Garry J. Foley’s love for Elvis’ music came from playing his father’s records at a very young age. The very first record he ever purchased was Elvis’s “Don’t Be Cruel”, which remains a favorite to this day. It was his love for Elvis' music that inspired him to become an Elvis tribute artist, leading him to perform all over the world. Being an Elvis tribute artist is a dream come true for Garry, whose favorite Elvis song is “Suspicious Minds.”
Garry is making a return trip to Canada at the end of July, 2018 to compete for a second time in the Collingwood Elvis Festival. Welcome back, Garry! We wish you great success at the Festival. Best regards, Carolyn MacArthur.

ELVIS TRIBUTE ARTIST
Official Biography
Garry is a multi-award winning Elvis Tribute Artist and has performed throughout the UK, EUROPE, USA, CANADA, CHINA, INDIA and ASIA.
Garry has been performing as an Elvis Tribute Artist (ETA) for many years and has gained many awards along the way. This success has led to many opportunities for Garry not only in the UK, but also worldwide.
Garry has had a lot of success in competing in “Europe’s Tribute to Elvis” festival. In the four years of the festival, he has come 2nd twice, 3rd, and has always been a finalist.
In 2016, Garry was delighted to have won the right to represent Europe’s Tribute to Elvis Festival (Tees Event) in the EPE Ultimate Tribute Artist Contest in Memphis during Elvis week in August.
2017 saw Garry continue his award-winning success, coming 3rd at one of the biggest Elvis festivals of the year...“The Collingwood Elvis Festival” in Ontario, Canada.
In 2014, Garry was approached by a worldwide production company to star in the lead role of Elvis in the theatre stage production of “ELVIS-The King of Rock & Roll” and subsequently toured China in 2015, doing 42 shows in 30 cities.
In January 2016, 2017 and 2018, Garry did 3 tours of India with his band, performing in front of crowds in excess of 2000 people, and he will be touring India again in 2019 as well as in the Gulf states.
In August 2016, Garry competed at Graceland, in Memphis, Tennessee in Elvis Presley Enterprises “Ultimate Contest” as one of only 20 tribute artists from around the world competing to become the 2016 World Ultimate Elvis Presley Tribute Artist.
Having spent quite a few years in musical theatre, Garry then had the opportunity to enter into the Tribute world and fulfill a life-long ambition to entertain people by singing Elvis’s music. He has since travelled the world doing so. There was only one Elvis Presley, but Garry is one of the closest tribute artists you will see--with the look, costumes, voice and on-stage charisma.
